What makes the duo of Charlie Day and Frank Reynolds so rich and exciting are their incredible skills as scavengers. They are notorious for hanging out under suspecting bridges or staying up late to play Night Crawlers (a game that consists of crawling around in the night like worms). Their most notable scavenging adventure took place in 'The Gang Finds a Dumpster Baby', in which Charlie and Frank discover the lost treasures of the city dump Charlie makes an incredible find…an Alli Babba sword! He rightfully asserts its use to his companion, Frank: “Dude, you could totally chop a camel in its hump and drink all its milk off the tip of this thing, man!”

Frank and Charlie make one hell of team in the highbrow white-collar world of international big business. In, 'Frank’s Back in Business', Frank is called in to save the company that he originally built. To do so, he takes Charlie under his wing. Together they schmooze foreign powers, shopping for Rolexes, and eat sushi off the breasts of an Asian lady. Unfortunately what Charlie could not grasp is that companies make money, generate wealth, and nothing more should ever be asked on the subject. Charlie’s illiteracy also takes a toll on his success in this episode, alas, while he could partially adapt to casual business practices he could not adapt to reading.

The dating world is harsh and unforgiving. Luckily Charlie and Frank have each other to rely on. In 'Frank’s Pretty Woman', Charlie devises a scheme to get Frank to explore his options in the dating world. The plan is ingenious: Charlie is to pose as a casual millionaire from Texas, while Frank will play his humble limo driver. When Charlie comes down with a sudden illness Frank will swoop in and rescue the evening, ”she’s not going to be able to resist a night like that. A date with a Limo Driver!” Charlie assures Frank. And Charlie plays his part almost perfectly, skillfully claiming to have made his millions in the bridge business and a pretty penny in boiled denims. As the date advances, Charlie, who swallowed one too many blood capsules, begins to spew bloody vomit all over the frightened woman. Frank immediately jumps in to offer the woman an egg in this 'trying time', which she refuses and promptly decides to exit the limo. This is a crucial moment in the relationship of Frank and Charlie, when Frank confesses to Charlie what he wants out of life. “I love eggs, Charlie. And I love crabs. And I love boiling denim and banging whores.”

One word. Shrimp. In 'The Gang Buys a Boat', Charlie invests his life savings in a P. Diddy style shrimping vessel so that he and Frank can begin hauling massive amounts of shrimp from the sea. It is a sound entrepreneurial endeavor that is cut short when the vessel catches fire and sinks into the sea. Shrimping was not in it for the long haul, but schemes are always in the works.

As Charlie explores his prolific ability to write for the theater Frank is always at his side ready to act. In 'The Nightman Cometh' Charlie casts Frank as a troll in a theater piece that he wrote. Frank: “Who’s gonna play the troll guy?” Charlie: “You’re going to play the troll guy.” Frank: “I’m the troll guy?” Charlie: “Who else would be the troll?”  Unfortunately, there was a slight dilemma over the subtle subject of rape. The lyrics were as follows “You gotta pay the troll toll to get into this boy’s hole"…but Frank was saying “Boy’s hole,” which clearly misconstrued the intent of the work. Anyway, the play fails to impress the Waitress, Charlie’s one true love, who prompt denies his very nice request for marriage at the conclusion of the play.
